Debut album in the sign of Melodic metal/rock with female vocals from this Spanish band, which recurred to the help of a Manchester keyboardist for the lines of these 10 tracks; as to the lyrics, they concern feelings of unreality, oblivion, freedom yearning, intimism, among which the ones of "Soul's Sound" are conspicuous.
The record's highlights are the majority of the tracks: "From", hypnotic and a bit Tiamat-like; "Unreal", displaying an excellent entwining between drums, bass and piano; "My Dark Soul", containing killer bass lines, powerful and dynamic drumming, and finally a perfect siren refrain with the only male vocals present here , set in the background; "Distance", vaguely close to The Gathering; "Secrets", embellished by keyboards lines sounding almost like a flute, and in the end "Stages".
Another positive aspect resides in the majestic recording, and the abstract artwork stands out as well, made by vocalist Selene herself. What she needs to improve is her English masterdom, because it will cut a poor figure in an international concert, interview or on a similar occasion, and the drumming must be more precise now and then.
When the Spaniards are mature, their music isn't gonna pass unnoticed for sure, but for the moment let's enjoy this first effort and its magic.
