The Anorexia Nervosa Nihilistic Orchestra strikes back! Just like the audacious MCD 'Sodomizing The Archangel ' spread the seeds for the remarkable 'Drudenhaus', so is this 3rd release on the transalpine label the awaited higher step to perfection from the best French symphonic black metal band so far.

The tracks are characterized by an intense performance and pathos galore, as though marquis De Sade's perversion incredibly were brought up-to-date. A big merit lies in the variety of drum parts, not only at mincing speeds by devastating bass drums, but also by powerful rolls and other inspired uses; moreover, very good are the orchestral contributes at the beginning of the opener 'Mother Anorexia ', or even better intermezzoed in the core of 'Black Death, Nonetheless', and really stirs up penance the beginning in Latin of the neo-classic 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa ', sounding like a cut excerpt from Dario Argento's 'Suspiria', because of the female vocals, language and majesty; wholly French lyrics ( which are also partially present in other 3 songs ) in the lugubrious and multiform 'Le Portail De La Vierge ', and one more time grandiose arrangements with superb declamatory crescendos in 'The Altar Of Holocausts ', while 'Hail Tyranny ' is played by a piano only, decadent and sad, and therefore particularly evocative.

This darker release features 8 trax ( + purely extraordinary cover-versions of Judas Priest, Candlemass and even Death in the digipack and vinyl limited editions ), deeply anti-life lyrics, various vocal styles, esp. hallucinated ones, experimented and overdubbed sometimes in grand choirs, which is A.N.'s winning weapon. Noble, with so many a violin, precise and vehement, a killer layout and cover by the famous Czech photographer Jan Saudek, and last but not least a massive clear production achieved at 48-track Drudenhaus studios again, the quintette simply plays an elite music that every respectable sympho-black metal freak should lust for his own funeral.
